We breed very seldom, when we do our puppies are usually sold before they are planned. You can send us an email to Pekeapug@gmail.com to see if we have any puppies available, but if you are looking for one "off the shelf" we will not have one for you. Our pugs are first and foremost part of our family. Puppies are raised around noise, other dogs, cats, humans of all sizes. If you are truly interested in a pug from a reputable breeder please note you will have to wait. Off the shelf pugs, "pugs" of colour (ARE CROSS BREEDS), are usually sold by back yard breeders who do NO testing on their dogs and breed whatever to make money. Dogs of kijiji are usually from these people, BUYER BEWARE. They will tell you that they are registered dogs and the parents are registered, but please do your homework, talk to the breeders on Pug Club of Canada.
Please read the below. We are not breeders that breed for profit, we breed only to better our breed. Once puppies are on the ground, and they are at the age of 8 weeks, that is when we decide what if anyone is available to any homes. This is very hard on people waiting for puppies, but we don't breed to fill orders for puppies as we are not a store. All puppies are micro chipped, and have had a min of two sets of shots. If the dog is going to a pet home then rabies is not given and we recommend you give it at a later date, when the puppy is older. Dogs cannot enter the USA until 30 days after it rabies shot, so we would give a puppy going to the USA a rabies at three months, then it is recommended you give a booster at six months to ensure coverage. All puppies leave under contract.
We do not let puppies go around Christmas either. There has been a lot of research done that puppies given as gifts end up in the SPCA. This is not a place that we want any of our dogs. Non-negotiable
ALL dogs leave Pekeapug under a co ownership agreement. This is where we remain on with the Canadian Kennel Club as a co owner. This takes nothing away from you. It is protection for our puppies. We will also remain as the emergency contact. As all puppies are microchipped, and if they do end up in the SPCA, we are the first to be notified. At this point a long discussion as to how the family member ended up in such a place and then the discussion of the future.
If either of the above points are not satisfactory to you, please do not waste your time in contacting us. These points are non negotiable. Of late, we have had a number of nasty emails because of these points. We are sorry that we believe that our puppies are family and should be treated as that, by you as a new owner.
If we do not have anything available we maybe able point you in the direction of a reputable breeder. These may not be in your area, but they are reputable. Please note there are a number of pug puppy mills out there and you need to be BUYER BEWARE!! Please check out our Link page for recommended breeders.
